What's Caviar Lime and What Will It Do to My Skin?

My favorite mask has to be the Caviar Lime Acid Peel from Lancer. Now, I know when you read the name of the product you were probably thinking of Caviar, the bougie topping, and Lime, a topping for tacos or an accompaniment for tequila, as two separate things. In this case, 'Caviar Lime' is one entity – an Australian fruit that is naturally rich in AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acid).

"The acid peel is one of those things you take for granted and don't realize is working."

Since delving more into the skincare world, I’ve been a huge convert to chemical exfoliants in place of physical exfoliants. While the jar this comes in seems deceivingly small, a little product goes a long way. I'm not one to get swept up in the moment and buy products on the spot, but when the sales associate for Lancer put this on the back of my hand and talked to me about the brand, you can imagine my shock when she wiped away the product and I was left with baby smooth skin.

The mask claims to be a solution for dull and uneven skin, pores, and fine lines. Immediately after using this mask, you notice that baby smooth skin. After continued use, I've seen a huge reduction in pore size and hyperpigmentation scars. The acid peel is one of those things you take for granted and don't realize is working. That is, until you forget to use the mask and notice your skin starting to look a bit dull again.

The product has a light gel consistency so I always apply a generous amount. This stuff does tingle, so it's best to try and avoid the eye area. Usually I'll grab about a dime sized amount of product and evenly dispense this over my cheeks and forehead. I'll then go in and smooth this into a nice even layer over my face.

This peel is recommended to be used once or twice a week, but I usually do this on Sunday night in preparation for the week ahead. You can leave it on for as little as 15 minutes or as long as 60 minutes – obviously I go for the full hour. I usually don't find myself to have enough time to do this on a weeknight, so doing this as a part of my self-care routine before I start the work week is a great treat.
